Picking the Right One Person Tent for Your Needs

A backpacking adventure is a great way to enjoy some quiet time away from the fast paced world we live in. Experienced backpackers often choose to go on expeditions on their own or with a group of friends. Long treks require equipment that is light enough to be packed without causing the carrier any stress. Picking the perfect one person tent for your needs is important.

A one person tent is light enough to be packed around while providing enough shelter for the backpacker alone. There are a variety of styles to choose from. Some are very basic providing just enough room to comfortably sleep in. Other styles provide a bit more head room and space to keep a backpacker’s things out of the elements.

Warmth and durability are some important factors to consider before purchasing a one person tent. Extreme cold will require a heavier material to keep a backpacker warm. If the tent is only needed for mild weather a screen style tent is ideal. The screen keeps out bugs while allowing a nice, gentle breeze to waft through the tent.

When choosing a one person tent, it is also a good idea to look at the set up demands. Some are very basic and only require a couple of poles, while others may be a little more intricate and take a bit longer to put up. The right one person tent can mean the difference between a good or awesome hiking trip.
